Arkansas Trooper Injured After Flipping His Cruiser Doing A 130 MPH PIT Maneuver

High-speed PIT maneuvers performed by law enforcement are inherently risky, as demonstrated in this dashcam footage of an Arkansas trooper chasing a fleeing suspect. That’s why pitting people who run is a controversial topic. On the one side are people who think police shouldn’t chase anyone, while on the other end of the spectrum are those who believe cops are justified in wrecking out everyone who doesn’t pull over immediately.

Mustang tries showing off for a McLaren and almost eats it.

We suspect this video won’t change many minds, but it sure is interesting to watch. What you don’t see in the footage is that the suspect was originally clocked by a different trooper doing 90 in a 60 mph zone. When that trooper tried a traffic stop, the suspect accelerated to well above 100 mph, drove in the paved median, and the trooper called off the chase because too much traffic made it unsafe.

But not too long after, in the video we see this second trooper spot the suspect and begin a new pursuit which ends with a PIT maneuver at 130 mph. Thanks to less traffic on that stretch of road, the second trooper is able to catch up quickly, enabling him to perform the tactical vehicle intervention immediately.

The suspect still bailed from his wrecked-out vehicle and ran on foot, but another trooper chased him down.

Ultimately, Trooper Drum suffered some facial lacerations but was released from the hospital after receiving treatment. As for our suspect, he suffered some unspecified minor injuries, was treated at the hospital as well, then discharged and booked into jail. Now he’s facing serious criminal charges, including felony fleeing and second-degree battery.

This is why you don’t run from cops, even if you believe you did nothing wrong.
