There’s no doubt road rage continues to be a serious issue nationwide, including in Los Angeles, but a recent case in the southern part of the city has left many shocked. Not only did the female victim suffer multiple injuries in a resulting crash, the whole thing might have started as a domestic disturbance.
Suspect fleeing trooper hides in plain sight.
In other words, the woman might be the aggressor’s girlfriend, sister, mother, etc. That makes the details of this case far more disturbing. While it’s horrible to hurt someone you don’t even know, doing this to someone for whom you supposedly care is unconscionable.
Neighbors in the South Los Angeles neighborhood say they heard yelling shortly before all hell broke loose. Home surveillance footage obtained by KTLA 5 shows a car getting rammed repeatedly by a Chevy Silverado. Police have confirmed the truck was reported as stolen.
In the process of hitting the car which was being driven by the female victim over and over, the male suspect also hit several vehicles parked in the street. You can see in the video report we’ve included the damage to some is pretty extensive.
The man in the stolen Silverado didn’t stick around. He ditched the truck and apparently ran away on foot. Police are reportedly saying little about who he is, so hopefully they already know where to grab him.
We’ve seen other cases of road rage or cars being used as weapons in domestic disputes, both by men and women, and it’s always a disgusting display. After all, any vehicle is a powerful tool which if abused could kill someone. Even acting like you’re going to run over someone with whom you have had a disagreement is akin to firing a bullet, narrowly missing them.
Hopefully the male suspect is caught soon and faces real justice. And we hope the woman makes a full recovery, not just physically but also emotionally and psychologically. She’s lucky to be alive.
