Street Takeover Driver Breaks His Dodge Charger Running From Police

The gloves have come off in Florida when it comes to busting street takeovers and the people who attend them know this. So, when Florida Highway Patrol descended on a takeover held around midnight in a Target parking lot, the kids who scattered and ran in desperation to get away. One driver in a Dodge Charger tries to hard to get away, he keeps going even after he’s broken the muscle car.

We see the whole scene captured on troopers’ dashcams and it’s amazing. The footage starts off like so many other takeover busts where the cops come in force and everyone scatters in a mad dash to get away.

Of course, FHP can’t chase everyone down, but with a bird in the sky they’ve likely already pinpointed which cars contain the biggest violators. One is obviously the Charger, because a trooper ignores another fleeing vehicle and locks onto the Mopar instead.

Partway through the chase, you see the Dodge leaning toward the driver’s side as sparks shoot out from the chassis. Obviously something broke but the driver is panicked enough he thinks he can muscle through and get away.

Eventually he’s cornered and that’s when you see the front driver’s side wheel is just gone. We don’t know if the wheel had been damaged while the guy was doing tricks and it came off during the chase, or if he damaged it during the pursuit.

What we do know is any normal person wouldn’t drive their car while it’s missing a wheel. Of course, normal people also don’t do donuts and drifts in a Target parking lot at midnight with a bunch of other people or run from the police.

To the shock of nobody, it turns out the driver has a warrant for his arrest. One of his passengers is on probation, too. These are the people who attend street takeovers.
