Watch A Dodge Hellcat Run From Police In Rainy Conditions

We know a Dodge Hellcat can theoretically smoke just about any police car out there, if the driver doesn’t lose control. That’s the key with the Mopar muscle cars, so when an Arkansas trooper tried pulling one over in rainy conditions, the big question was if the suspect could maintain control of the powerful beast while also getting away.

Someone is using a Dodge Charger to impersonate police in Georgia and North Carolina.

The Hellcat driver had to know something was up. At first, the trooper is just in the lane behind him as they transition from one road to another, then come to a stop light. For whatever reason, be it warrants, contraband in the muscle car, or something else, the suspect driver decides he doesn’t want the trooper behind him.

To ditch the cop, the guy turns into a shopping mall parking lot, but the trooper does as well. He turns again and so does the trooper, so it’s obvious he’s about to get pulled over.

Instead of waiting to see the reason for the traffic stop, the guy whips his Dodge Challenger Hellcat around and sends it. This is the moment of truth as the suspect takes advantage of the mostly empty parking lot, splashing through puddles and tempting fate.

But he doesn’t suddenly lose control of the Mopar, instead gapping the trooper. The guy plays it fairly conservatively on the surface streets, winding his way to the highway as more units jump into the pursuit.

This is where the Hellcat starts to really shine as both Arkansas State Police units try to keep up in the rain and traffic. They’re badly outgunned by the supercharged Hemi and our suspect surprisingly is smart about not taking unnecessary risks and sending the muscle car into an uncontrolled spin at speed.

While the troopers still give chase for a while, their only hope is the guy wrecking out. That doesn’t happen, so another Hellcat gets away.
