Wheels, Engine Disemboweled From BMW In Horrific Chicago Crash

A man in Chicago is dead after he crashed what appears to be a white BMW X3, splitting the crossover in half. The brutal impact disemboweled the engine and front wheels from the vehicle, which were left sitting bizarrely in the road. We hate to see accidents like this.

Watch a Mustang wreck out trying to beat an oncoming semi-truck.

According to a local news report from WGNTV, the crash happened on the city’s south side on the night of February 9. For some reason, the driver just hit a tree, then spun into two parked, unoccupied vehicles.

The guy was likely not wearing a seatbelt because it’s reported he was ejected from the BMW. Almost every time someone is thrown from a car during a crash it’s because they’re not belted in. Seatbelt failures do happen, so that’s still a possibility in this case.

While the X3 driver sadly was pronounced dead at the scene, nobody else was injured. That’s a miracle since debris from the violent crash was scattered all over the street.

No mention of police ruling out drugs or alcohol in the crash was made in the report, so that makes us wonder if investigators aren’t sure or think that perhaps those were a factor. It’s always possible in accidents like this that the driver fell asleep or suffered a medical episode.

Since few details are provided in the report, we can’t draw many conclusions. But we can marvel at how the impact with the tree just tore the X3 apart like it was made of paper mâché. BMWs are usually known for being good in crashes, but this one didn’t hold up under the impact forces.

This tragic crash should be a reminder to everyone that you need to stay alert, sober, and actively engaged while behind the wheel. A temporary lapse in judgement could be life altering.
