In yet another automaker storage lot heist, several Ford Raptor R pickups were stolen by thieves near Flat Rock, Michigan. Police were able to capture a few suspects after two chases, with those ending in crashes.

Learn why a motorcycle rider was arrested after not taking off his helmet.

It all went down on the night of February 11 after the theft of the Ford Raptor Rs was reported to police. Police spotted a Dodge Durango that was suspected as being used in the heist and gave chase, reports Metro Detroit News.

We know, it’s shocking to think criminals would drive a Dodge -that’s said with all the sarcasm we can muster. Eventually, after the chase wound through several communities in the Detroit area, the Durango driver crashed into several vehicles in Lincoln Park, which you can see are pretty badly mangled in the video footage.

Thankfully, nobody was seriously injured in the wreck.

In the meantime, police from several jurisdictions chased down one of the stolen Ford Raptor R trucks. Considering how large and fast those are, it’s no wonder the pursuit took coordinated effort.

Footage taken by Metro Detroit News on the scene shows the suspect driver lost control, plowing the performance pickup into a pylon, disabling it.

Police haven’t supplied many details, but several people were arrested on the night of February 11. The sad part is they’re just catching the low level guys in these theft rings, which oftentimes are teenagers. People higher up will just recruit and train more thieves if their guys are kept incarcerated for any significant time, which they often aren’t.

Just like dealerships, thieves see these factory storage lots as soft targets to hit in the middle of the night. Plus, they’re getting brand new vehicles which will go for top dollar in the black market, making these heists incredibly tempting.
