Running from the cops in Georgia, like what this suspect on a four wheeler does, is not a great idea. After all, if you do it long enough, Georgia State Patrol might come help out local law enforcement, and they don’t play around. But in Clayton County, the sheriff’s department has a special Blackhawk unit that also isn’t afraid to PIT fleeing suspects.

Fleeing from police can cost you big money.

That’s where this chase takes place and the suspect, who speeds by on the four wheeler while his pregnant wife rides as a passenger, just happens to come across two Blackhawk units.

Immediately, the guy runs a red light, making it clear to deputies he’s not about to pull over and do the right thing. The chase is on.

When you’re fleeing on four wheeler, usually your defense is a lot of law enforcement agencies will treat you with kid gloves. That’s not the case in Calyton County. That leaves using the fact the vehicle can go off-road and fit where larger cars can’t as the only real option for slipping away.

After all, even the fastest production four wheelers won’t hold a candle to a police cruiser driven by a highly trained deputy. But this guy thinks he can, or at least he tries, in one of the most idiotic getaway attempts we’ve seen in a while.

To throw deputies off, he goes the wrong way on a road. The guy probably thinks he’s creating a hazard for cops, but the risk to himself and his wife is far greater. Apparently, he didn’t think about that.

When he finally realizes he can’t accelerate away from deputies, the guy finally leaves the pavement behind, cutting across a lawn. But he and his wife almost dump off as they hit bumps at higher speeds, so he cuts right back to the road and a waiting deputy.

Right after that one deputy gets in front of the four wheeler and one stays behind, effectively trapping out suspect. Even the dumbest person at this point would realize they’re done and should surrender, right?

Apparently not. Even when a third deputy comes along and closes up one side, attempting to box the four wheeler in, the rider twists the throttle and tries off-roading on the shoulder to get away.

After the guy cuts into a neighborhood, cutting across lawns yet again, deputies are done playing. One gently PITs the four wheeler, ending the chase as the husband ditches his wife, trying to run away before getting tazed.

This isn’t how you have fun on a Friday night. These people were lucky the one deputy was nice about how he performed the PIT maneuver.
