Car enthusiasts dreaming of owning a modern piece of motorsport history may now have a chance, thanks to the latest sweepstakes from Dream Giveaway. At the center of the promotion is a low-mileage 2005 Ford GT—an American supercar that pays tribute to Ford’s Le Mans dominance in the 1960s.
Inspired by the legendary GT40 that famously beat Ferrari in 1966, the 2005 Ford GT brought that racing heritage into the 21st century with a mid-mounted, supercharged 5.4-liter V8 engine delivering 550 horsepower. Capable of exhilarating performance while still offering creature comforts like air conditioning, power seats, and a premium McIntosh sound system, the GT was a limited-production supercar built for the road.
This particular example, now being offered as the grand prize, has only 3,000 miles on the odometer and includes every available factory option: BBS lightweight forged aluminum wheels, racing stripes, and red-painted brake calipers. The car remains in near-showroom condition, having been stored in climate-controlled care.
Built at Ford’s Wixom Assembly Plant in Michigan by a dedicated team of UAW technicians, the GT is revered for combining retro styling with cutting-edge performance. At its release, it was widely praised for outperforming many of its European rivals, including the Ferrari 360 Modena.
In addition to the car, Dream Giveaway will cover an estimated $60,000 in federal prize taxes for the winner.
