Stolen Mustang Gets Pitted Hard In Georgia

After successfully fleeing from local police earlier in the day, a woman driving the Ford Mustang she stole learned a hard lesson at the hands of Clayton County Sheriff’s Blackhawk unit. The deputies in that elite force are trained for high-speed, risky pursuits, so they were able to chase down and PIT the pony car out with relative ease.

It probably didn’t hurt that the suspect was reportedly high at the time. Perhaps that’s in part why she decided to walk into a funeral parlor, take the director’s keys, then drive off in his Mustang.

Hours later, members of Blackhawk spot the white Ford convertible and try pulling it over, as you can see in the included dashcam video.

They probably already knew the driver was going to run and she didn’t disappoint. However, she made the mistake not only of taking a vehicle that doesn’t belong to her, but snagging an EcoBoost instead of a GT.

With a wimpy turbocharged four-cylinder engine, she doesn’t stand a chance against the deputies’ Hemi V8-powered Chargers. For all the EcoBoost fans who can’t handle the truth, this is exactly why your pony doesn’t get much respect.

Instead of giving the suspect time to pull a move and slip away or do something else stupid, the lead deputy almost immediately performs a well-executed PIT maneuver. The Ford spins one way, the driver overcorrects, and it spins the other direction, slamming into the concrete barrier.

That does significant damage to the Mustang, perhaps more than can be seen in the video. We’re guessing the funeral director is going to get a big insurance payout with a new car in his future. But the female suspect didn’t get away and is now facing consequences in the justice system.
