Once again, Southern Californians living near a Waymo lot are voicing complaints about noise, particularly after dark. They describe incessant beeping from the robotaxis that makes it difficult to concentrate and, more frustratingly, to sleep.

The grievances echo similar complaints heard elsewhere as autonomous vehicle fleets expand into residential areas. As robotaxi operations grow, the friction between cutting-edge technology and the everyday peace of nearby residents is becoming an increasingly common conflict.
