They say these days no good deed goes undocumented on social media, so when a C8 Corvette owner gave an elderly man a fun ride in his sports car, he had to post about it. His video quickly spread in popularity on the short video social site as people thought it was cute and admirable.
Dodge has a new anti-theft device for its old muscle cars.
According to Delino Barash, who goes by barashkid on TikTok, he was at a mattress store in Michigan when an elderly woman approached him. She apparently noticed he arrived in a C8 Corvette, which he inherited from his late brother last year.
That’s when the woman worked up the courage to ask Barash to give her 92-year-old husband a ride in the mid-engine wonder, saying it would make his day. The guy did, telling People they went for a four-mile spin before returning to the parking lot.
Just the beginning of the journey is documented in the TikTok video, which has amassed over 960,000 likes and millions of views. The elderly man was clearly excited to be sitting in the C8 Corvette, which he struggled to get inside, telling Barash he would have to help him get out after.
But the man said he “loved” the sound of the V8 engine cold starting. We can hardly blame him.

During the ride, the man said Barash made his entire year, remarking the ‘Vette was his dream car and he couldn’t believe he was riding in one.
Barash told People the reason he agreed to give the old man a ride in the C8 Corvette was because that’s what his brother would’ve done.
We know a lot of people are tired of car influencers, just like other social media influencers, especially young guys like Barash who seem to flaunt their wealth and claim to have bootstrapped their way to financial success. We get why that is.
But we’d rather see influencers doing this sort of thing instead of causing fatal crashes as they hot dog around on public roads.
