Stolen C7 Corvette Runs From Police With A Juvenile Passenger

The driver of a stolen C7 Corvette took police on a high-flying pursuit through Placer County while a juvenile rode shotgun. Ten years ago, we would’ve been shocked, even horrified at that revelation, but sadly these days it’s all too common.

Teenage fraudster buys a Porsche before getting arrested.

In fact, we wouldn’t have been surprised if the driver was just 12 years old himself. That’s the state of things these days and it’s sad.

Still, a flashy yellow C7 Corvette running from police is quite the sight, which is why at least one person in the area recorded video of the chase, submitting it to local news station KCRA 3. The chase went down after the Chevy was reported stolen out of Sacramento.

As the American sports car blasts past houses on what looks to be a fairly rural road, a young boy runs up to the cameraman, clearly excited by the excitement. Several police cars are trailing behind the suspect, lights and sirens going.

Maybe we’ve just been so exposed to this sort of thing it no longer gets us excited, because the kid looks like he just saw Santa Claus.

Placer County deputies were able to successfully spike the tires on the suspect vehicle, slowing it down. The chase ended not too long afterwards, but we’re not sure if that means the suspect driver gave up or deputies pitted it out.

Details about the driver weren’t released and we don’t know how he’s related to the juvenile passenger. It’s possible the driver was 18 and the passenger was his 17-year-old friend – we just don’t know. Or it might have been an adult with a child.

The point is it’s sad how a story like this would’ve ignited so many questions and in general outrage not that long ago, but today it’s just another in a parade of similar stories.
