If you’re looking for a nice, reliable luxury sedan, you might want to consider this 1999 Toyota Century. It comes with a big V12 engine and is plush, especially in the backseat. Plus, it has a timeless look and few would guess it’s a JDM ride.
A certain group of used cars have hit record highs.
In fact, we don’t think most people would even guess this car is a Toyota if they were to just see it driving down the road. They might mistake it for a Mercedes or something like that. The black paint looks to be in great shape, as does the brightwork, trim, and wheels.
Someone really cared for this Century, and it’s easy to see why. Back in the late 90s if you were a successful Japanese businessman, this was the car to buy so everyone knew you had arrived.
Because of that, they were often used with a chauffeur, so the owner spent time in the backseat. While the front seat area is nice with soft leather upholstery and wood grain trim, in the back there’s more room and some old school electronics to address comfort needs.
Even better, if you’re driving this thing, you get to enjoy the svelte and reliable 5.0-liter V12 engine. A lot of American enthusiasts seek these cars out just for that.
The listing doesn’t say, but these second-gen Century sedans usually have power-adjustable rear seats. They also usually are equipped with an air ride suspension, so you get a much more comfortable experience, even driving on rougher roads.
This specific ’99 Toyota Century has about 125,000 miles on it and is being sold for $14,400. Even better, the seller says import documentation is included. We would suggest making sure you can register the car in your state before pulling the trigger.
