A hypercar flip scam based out of Las Vegas, Nevada was recently busted up by police, but there might be more victims. While we can understand some people who were tricked into investing in the business might be embarrassed to come forward, that’s their only chance to recover the money they lost.

According to police, a classic car dealership is just a scam.

According to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, 45-year-old Jong Rhee and 34-year-old Neelufar Rhee are accused of defrauding quite a few investors out of $57 million. They were telling people that they could buy hypercars, supercars, boats, and other luxury vehicles here in the US, then sell them elsewhere in the world for significantly more.

The couple did these transactions through two businesses they controlled: Twisted Twins Motorsports, LLC, and Lusso Auto Spa. If you had dealings with either one, you might have been scammed.

Investors were supposed to help with raising capital to buy all the pricey toys, which the couple were then going to flip internationally, dealing with all the pesky import/export details. In return, people who turned over large fortunes were to get a big return on the investment.

They say if an opportunity like this sounds too good to be true, it likely is. If only more people had listened to their gut, they wouldn’t have fallen for this scheme.

Police say there were no buyers in foreign markets for the vehicles purchased, which include several Bugatti Chirons, Bugatti Divo, Apollo Intensa Emozione, and a Pagani Huayra. Instead of trying to sell those hypercars, the couple just kept them for their own personal enjoyment.

They allegedly used the investment money to make other pricey purchases and lived the high life. LVMPD worked with law enforcement agencies spanning from Pennsylvania to California while conducting the investigation into the alleged scam.

However, investigators believe there are more victims than the ones they’ve identified so far. Anyone who dealt with the Rhees or their businesses, Twisted Twins Motorsports, LLC, and Lusso Auto Spa, is encouraged to step forward.
