People are shocked to learn that Dodge Hellcat models are becoming rather affordable after prices soared not that long ago. We’ve been watching this phenomenon for a while now and aren’t the least bit surprised. But we guess others thought Hellcats were always going to be pricey.

Porsche slows down its electrification strategy.

Collectors and flippers obviously believed that when the Challenger and Charger Hellcats rode off into the sunset. Dealerships were tacking on big market adjustment fees as people clamored to get the last of the V8 Mopar muscle cars which supposedly would ever be made.

Many really did buy that’s what the future held, that electric cars would take over and the Hellcat might never return. But they were wrong.

Now that everyone knows the Hellcat is coming back to the Charger, even though that hasn’t been officially announced yet, the market is adjusting rapidly. This is happening at the same time the collector car market has been imploding.

That’s not a coincidence. After all, electrification and the mantra that “the future is electric” got people mothballing all kinds of performance vehicles.

But the government arm twisting to make people buy electric cars has been undone, so that perception of scarcity is over. Such a shift in how people view any resource will cause a market to adjust.

After all, why would you overpay on a used Hellcat, even one with scarce miles, when you’ll be able to buy a new one?

Go look at any marketplace and you’ll find Hellcats are becoming relatively affordable again. America is healing.

There are even rumors Dodge is working on bringing back the old Challenger and Charger, calling them “Classic” models, with the Hellcats in the lineup. So, you could buy the same exact vehicle right off a dealer lot with delivery miles.

Why would anyone pay a ridiculous markup for one?

Elections have consequences and this is absolutely what we voted for.
