Houston socialite Kristina Chambers has been sentenced to 11 years and two weeks in prison following a fatal crash in her Porsche 911 that killed a pedestrian. A judge handed down the sentence after prosecutors argued the crash was the result of extreme impairment rather than the footwear Chambers initially blamed.

What Happened the Night of the Crash
According to prosecutors, Chambers lost control of her Porsche 911 while driving through Houston, veering onto a sidewalk and striking a pedestrian before crashing into a light pole. The victim, who was reportedly out on a first date at the time, died as a result of the crash.
Chambers’ Defense and the Evidence Against It
Chambers initially claimed that her high-heeled shoes had interfered with the vehicle’s pedals, contributing to the crash. Prosecutors countered that argument by pointing to Chambers’ blood alcohol level at the time, which was measured at 0.32%, four times the legal limit in Texas. Investigators concluded that the level of impairment, not footwear, was the primary factor in the crash.
Sentencing
A judge ultimately sentenced Chambers to 11 years and two weeks in prison, closing out a case that drew significant public attention both for its unusual defense argument and its tragic outcome. The sentencing brings a legal resolution to the case, though it does not undo the loss experienced by the victim’s family and loved ones.
