Mustang Driver Arrested After 120 mph Pursuit in Livingston

A traffic stop in Livingston turned into a high-speed pursuit after a Mustang driver fled from California Highway Patrol officers, reaching speeds close to 120 mph before being taken into custody.

CHP officers initiated the stop on Mercedes Avenue, but instead of pulling over, the driver accelerated away. Troopers pursued as the Mustang headed through the area at extreme speeds, creating a dangerous situation for nearby drivers and residents. The chase continued for several miles as officers followed the vehicle across surface streets.

The pursuit came to an end near the intersection of 9th Street and Park Avenue in Livingston, where officers were able to stop the Mustang and detain the driver. No injuries or major collisions were reported in connection with the chase.

Authorities took the driver into custody at the scene. Further information about the driver’s identity or potential charges has not been released, but the case remains under investigation.

The incident highlights the risks officers face during routine traffic enforcement and the hazards posed when motorists choose to flee. CHP continues to urge drivers to comply with traffic stops and follow lawful instructions to avoid dangerous outcomes for themselves and others.
