Carjackings, rising in many cities for years, are terrifying ordeals. Most thieves don’t politely ask for your car but try to take it by force. One Philadelphia victim, however, fought back against several armed carjackers and narrowly escaped the dangerous confrontation.
Resisting armed assailants is extremely risky, even when the victim gets away. While experts generally advise against confrontation for safety’s sake, the close call highlights just how dangerous these violent crimes have become.
