Police chases involving Cadillacs are surprisingly rare these days, and this is the only one we recall where the suspect took their Caddie off-road. The move would have made more sense in an Escalade, given its rugged capability, than in the car the driver chose.
A road-oriented sedan is poorly suited to off-road escape attempts. The driver’s gamble predictably failed, ending the unusual pursuit and reinforcing that the wrong vehicle can doom a getaway before it begins.
