People can do some weird things normally, but when under the influence of alcohol or drugs their behavior becomes truly bizarre. That explains why this allegedly drunk driver led Ohio State Highway Patrol on a chase through the streets of Canton, only to end up in the sheriff’s office parking lot.
Drunk road rager reaps what she sows.
It’s almost as bad as the drunk driver going the wrong way who called 911 to report a drunk driver going the wrong way or the woman who was under the influence when she called police to tell them she was going to steal a car.
These incidents seem almost too comical to be true, but this one you can watch play out in the included dashcam footage. A trooper notices the driver is behaving in a way that would indicate impairment and so gives chase.
That turns into the suspect refusing to pull over even though the Ohio trooper is going lights and sirens. At one point, the guy goes round and round the same building in a parking lot several times. Obviously, he’s not firing on all cylinders.
Speaking of all cylinders, the Chrysler 200 the guy is driving at least isn’t a fast car, so when he decides to take off and really go for it, pushing past 80 mph, the trooper keeps up with ease.
But the guy doesn’t just stick to the road. He drives over medians, through lawns into parking lots adjacent to the road, hits curbs repeatedly, and manages to jack up his little Chrysler in the process, blowing out one of the tires and possibly doing suspension damage.
Not too long after, he pulls right into the sheriff’s office parking lot then tries driving round and round again. Does the guy even know where he is? Does he know who’s chasing him? We’ll never know, but we do know he tries getting out of the car while it’s still in drive as troopers draw tasers and take him into custody.
We’re kind of surprised no deputies got involved, considering where the chase ended.
