Drunk C7 Corvette Driver Crashes Big

Estimated read time 2 min read

Everyone knows drinking and driving is stupid, yet people still do it, we guess because addiction can lead to horrible life decisions. One C7 Corvette driver learned this lesson the hard way recently, although his glorious crash at least didn’t turn fatal.

Oakland has removed barriers intended to stop street takeovers.

According to police in Lincoln City, Oregon, witnesses saw the red C7 Corvette blasting through a 30 mph zone at well over the limit. Swerving to miss another car which was obeying the speed limit, the allegedly drunk sports car driver hit a curb, then struck a rock in the road’s median.

That put the ‘Vette up on two wheels, which must’ve been quite the thing to see, although it probably only lasted for the blink of an eye. While doing that, the C7 then hit an embankment.

You can see from the photo shared by police the vehicle came to a rest between two trees and just inches from a building. Somehow, the driver avoided plowing down any pedestrians or hitting another car.

Witnesses told police after the crash the driver got out and started trying to stash beer cans which were inside the C7 Corvette so officers wouldn’t see them. However, police noted several indications he was intoxicated and took him to a hospital where the suspect threatened to assault officers and hospital staff.

Now the guy is in serious trouble, picking up charges for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants, Reckless Driving, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree. Not smart.

This is yet another reminder that driving while intoxicated not only is illegal, it’s dumb and dangerous. If you do and crash, trying to hide evidence could get you in more trouble. Do the smart thing and just call an Uber or a friend.
