When suspects flee local law enforcement, Georgia State Patrol oftentimes jumps in to help. Sometimes troopers are called for assistance and other times they’re just in the area and decide to lend a hand. But in instances like this, a trooper heard that the suspect was using his Chevy Tahoe to try ramming the deputy chasing him, meaning all bets are off.
Ford wants to blast ads at drivers in annoying patent filing.
Normally, GSP troopers go hard enough when someone runs. After all, your average person pulls over and just takes a ticket, so for someone to lead police on a high-speed chase simply because they’re speeding or committing another small violation usually means something more is going on.
In this case, the guy not only is running but actively trying to harm the pursuing deputy using a big, heavy SUV. That alone warrants the trooper coming in hot and treating the suspect harshly.
Thankfully, the old Tahoe can’t go tearing down the road too fast or this pursuit might have been fatal in a hurry. The suspect still cuts it close with some oncoming traffic, making for a few scary moments as the trooper tries to find the perfect opening to make a move.
He gets just such an opportunity when the suspect turns left, trying to take the chase onto another road. Because the lumbering Chevy doesn’t handle like a sports car, the driver has to slow way down. But the trooper accelerates, catching the back driver’s side corner and spinning the Tahoe out.
And that’s when we can see it clearly: there’s a stick person family vinyl on the back window.
That hit by the trooper spins the Tahoe out and ends the chase. We get a clear view of the driver and his adult female passenger. Apparently, he had a few warrants for his arrest, so the guy ran and decided to make things worse. Also, there allegedly was some meth found in the Chevy.
It’s all about life choices and people who run from police aren’t making good ones.
