Unfortunately, thieves seem to love targeting shops when looking for valuable rides to steal, like this beautiful Jaguar XKSS swiped from a business in the Austin, Texas area. The shop really wants the classic car back and says a “substantial reward” is on the table for its safe return, which we hope happens soon.
A truck shopper falls for a re-steal scam and pays the price.
The theft took place over the weekend of November 30 and the classic Jag is still at large. It was swiped from a locked garage belonging to Team CJ Works in Westlake Hills. The local police department is on the hunt for it, but investigators can’t be everywhere.
We know we have readers all over the place and many of you are constantly sniffing out deals on cool cars. Whoever stole this XKSS could be trying to unload it before they’re caught with the goods, so one of you might have run across an online listing or heard about this car through a contact.
And since the theft happened over a week ago, the Jaguar could be anywhere in the United States at this point, if not out of the country. Most likely it’s been transported in a trailer or some other method where it’s hidden from view, because a ride like this is something which turns heads and is remembered by witnesses.
According to the shop, the XKSS has been painted Opalescent Green and has a Suede Green leather interior. In the photos it looks absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately, that might have been why it was targeted for the theft.
Many criminals love hitting up shops as well as dealerships when they’re closed because they have more time to work and steal whatever rides they want without fear of someone interrupting. Hopefully this car is located soon in good condition and returned.
