We don’t recommend you run from Clayton County Sheriff’s Blackhawk Unit otherwise that chase might come to a fiery conclusion like this one. A felon was caught by two deputies going 75 mph in a 45 zone, triggering a traffic stop. But once a deputy explained that and observed the suspect had weed in the Ford Edge, the felon took off.

Watch a Dodge Hellcat driver who thinks he’s above the law find out he isn’t.

Immediately, the guy blacked out the crossover that’s preferred overwhelmingly by middle-aged women for its inoffensive driving dynamics and overall ease of use. In other words, the Ford Edge is no racecar and is not a great option to use in a police chase, yet here we are.

Considering the Blackhawk Unit is well-trained when it comes to pursuits, keeping up with the grocery getter isn’t difficult. But this guy, who obviously has some experiencing running from cops, seems to think he can pull off a quick escape.

He doesn’t and the Blackhawk cruiser PITs the Ford, but the felon is able to get it back under control and keeps fleeing. As the deputy lines up for a second PIT, the suspect brake checks him, then takes off again.

But he doesn’t slip a third attempt, the deputy spinning the Edge out enough the felon can’t gain control again. As the crossover leaves the road, it hits a tree and bursts into flames. Honestly, that would make us reconsider our life choices if we owned one of these things.

Not surprisingly, the suspect tried running off but was chased down. The arresting deputy said he smelled alcohol on the man’s breath. A search of the vehicle turned up a Glock 19 with a full auto switch installed, along with an open bottle of alcohol. So the man made more poor choices than just buying a Ford Edge and running from cops.
