An unpleasant surprise unfolded in Surprise, Arizona recently when a Ram truck rammed its way through at least two parked vehicles. The seemingly random act has left a homeowner with a big mess and insurance claim process, while police have zero leads on the suspect.
This is the most hilarious insurance scam ever.
Home surveillance footage of the act of vandalism was shared by local station 12 News. In it, you can see the blue Ram speed along a residential street, suddenly turning into and plowing aside a Honda Civic parked in the road in front of the house.
Then the truck makes a beeline for the Jeep Grand Wagoneer parked in the driveway, hitting it before turning and tearing though the park strip before speeding down the road again. The attack unfolds in just a few seconds, giving the homeowner no time to react.
A reporter showed the aftermath and it’s not pretty. Unsurprisingly, the Civic was mangled, the rear driver’s side quarter panel almost entirely gone and the rear door on the same side severely damaged.
The Jeep suffered some rear-end damage but is much better off. We’re guessing the Civic will be totaled.
While the family had a security camera, the resolution on it wasn’t enough to capture the license plate on the back end of the Ram. They’re hoping a neighbor’s camera might have that information. We hate to rain on their parade, but there’s a strong chance the truck was stolen and someone decided to go for a joyride.
In other words, the whole attack on their cars might have been completely random. It is possible someone who has a bone to pick with the son (who drives the Civic) or someone else in the family did this, even stealing a truck to carry out the plan. Since police have no idea who the driver was, just about anything is possible at this point.
Just remember, if you’re looking at surveillance cameras for your house, go with the best video resolution possible. It makes a huge difference.
