More dashcam footage of Florida Highway Patrol breaking up a big street takeover event in Tampa keeps coming out, including this one of an Acura getting wrecked by a trooper. We would feel sorry for the owner, but the kid behind the wheel was warned not to flee and tried it anyway. Now daddy’s going to be mad his car is totaled.

Driver ditches his crashed C3 Corvette.

FHP descended in force on this huge takeover event held on September 1, 2024 with chaos ensuing. Cars were driving all over the place, even onto sidewalks, as kids were desperate to get away from cops.

You can see our primary camera car even drives onto a sidewalk to get around the gridlock from the street takeover that’s just breaking up. While some of his colleagues lock onto targets and pursue immediately, he drives around the intersection where fools were drifting and doing donuts, looking for a target.

He eventually finds it when a kid driving an Acura TL pulls attitude because the FHP cruiser is in his way while he’s trying to flee. Oh the irony.

We get the distinct feeling some of these kids were never told no or denied anything growing up. The driver is told repeated after he stops and is almost entirely surrounded by cops that if he doesn’t just put it in park and turn off the engine, his car will be wrecked.

The guy instead flees and makes it maybe a few hundred feet before the primary camera car does a low-speed PIT that leaves the side of the dressed-up Honda crinkled like a Ruffles potato chip. The kid can’t believe it as he cries about how the trooper wrecked his car.

He was warned to not flee. And he was dumb enough to attend a street takeover.
