The Ohio Department of Transportation has released traffic cam footage of a minivan causing a multi-car accident on a highway. While the footage is shocking, even enraging, what might be worse are the people arguing the minivan driver did nothing wrong.

Trump kills California’s EV mandate for good.

It’s when footage of avoidable crashes like this are released to the public and we see people acting like the person who caused it wasn’t at fault that we realize why there are so many bad drivers these days.

In the ODOT footage, which was shared to X, we see a red Dodge minivan come to a complete stop in the middle lane of the highway as the driver realizes the exit she wanted to take was right there. Because there were other cars driving down the right lane, she smartly didn’t cut them off to take the exit.

But she did bring the minivan to a complete stop in a lane of traffic on the highway. Two other vehicles stopped behind the red Dodge, but a third, a silver passenger van, failed to stop in time, slamming into the back of one of the stopped cars.

That caused a chain reaction with the first vehicle that was hit from behind slamming into the other one that stopped in time. At the same time, the passenger van veered towards the red minivan, which suddenly gunned it, cutting across the gore point and making the exit.

What people are arguing is that the red minivan didn’t cause the crash by just stopping in a lane of traffic on the highway. They reason the passenger van was at fault because it failed to stop. On the highway.

This is why there are so many bad drivers on public roads these days.

ODOT obviously posted the video to educate people. Along with the video, the state agency included this text:

“When you are driving along a major interstate and you miss your exit do you:

A) keep driving and get off at the next one

or

B) come to a complete stop, cause a multi-car rear-end crash and then drive away

HINT: The answer is NEVER B. Do not be this driver.”

The red Dodge minivan driver absolutely did the wrong thing and caused the multi-car crash, then just drove off. We guarantee people will say we’re wrong for stating that.

This is why there are so many bad drivers on public roads these days.

  1. I wish someone would educate people more like the passing lane. Heck general rules of the road they basically give the license away nowadays I feel like you pay all that money for these special things that you have to take you don’t want to fail is if you fail you paid all that money for nothing so that’s why they pretty much give people their and it’s a scam and it’s not right and they don’t they need to fail some of these people. Act like it’s all the speeders that cause the accidents all the time no it’s not aggressive driver Drive safest he’s aware the people that have passengers in the car and they’re sitting there talking and using the phone and in in their own little world they shouldn’t leave the driveway if they’re not ready to drive.
