A US congressman was threatened in a scary road rage incident and a doctor is accused of instigating it. While we know road rage has unfortunately been a growing problem in this country, this situation sounds like it wasn’t some random act but instead was a targeted attack.

Republican Representative Max Miller says he was driving to work on June 19 in Rocky River, Ohio when another driver, 36-year-old Feras Hamdan, tried showing him a Palestinian flag for some reason.
When Hamdan couldn’t get Representative Miller’s attention, he allegedly started honking, then ran the member of Congress off the road. Then he allegedly yelled about death to Israel, Rep. Miller (who describes himself as a “proud Jewish American”), and his family.
Rep. Miller said in a video describing the event that the police knew Hamdan’s identity. As WOIO reports, the man turned himself in to Rocky River Police later, with his attorney present. We’re super curious what the man’s defense is and if Rep. Miller has dashcam footage of the road rage attack.
The deranged hatred in this country has gotten out of control. Today I was run off the road in Rocky River, and the life of me and my family was threatened by a person who proceeded to show a Palestinian flag before taking off. I have filed a police report with Capitol Police and… pic.twitter.com/H6JnupcRIA

Hamdan has been hit with charges for aggravated menacing and ethnic intimidation. We feel like prosecutors have gone a little light on the guy considering what we’ve seen in other road rage cases. It’s possible more charges are coming.
The judge in this case has gone hard again Hamdan, referencing the fact two senators in Minnesota were murdered not long before the road rage incident, saying the man is facing “very serious charges.” He then ordered a $500,000 bond and ruled the man must surrender his passport.
Not only is Rocky River Police involved in the investigation, so is the FBI, Ohio State Highway Patrol, the US Attorney’s Officer of the Northern District of Ohio, and US Capital Police.
Speaker Mike Johnson condemned Hamdan’s actions in a statement made on X: “What happened to Max this morning is yet another outrageous example of unhinged rhetoric inspiring unstable people to threaten and attack elected officials who are serving their communities. We must turn down the temperature in this country. The U.S. Capitol Police is engaged with local law enforcement to help handle this case and ensure justice is served.”
