A famous mechanic has shared the completely crazy request a third gen Camaro owner made and people can’t handle it. While some enthusiasts are howling with delight at how dumb the Camaro owner is, others are defending the guy’s request, saying the mechanic doesn’t know anything.

Learn how to spot a lemon car.

The mechanic goes by the name “Car Wizard” on social media. You might have seen him on certain car YouTube channels in the past with his bald head, glasses, and beard. The man looks quite distinct.

While some worship whatever the Car Wizard says about automobiles, others think he’s overrated. That’s probably only adding to the controversy of a video he posted on Facebook explaining how “this customer asked for something crazy.”

According to the mechanic, the third gen Camaro had a 305ci V8 and the owner was having a hard time ripping burnouts in the thing. The customer’s solution was to ask his mechanic to check the brakes to see if maybe they weren’t holding properly.

But the mechanic found nothing wrong with the brake system.

That’s when the Camaro owner asked for the unthinkable: he asked the mechanic to “cut” the rear brake lines so when he would do a brake stand the rear tires would spin no problem. The Car Wizard’s response was a hard no because “that sounds like a lawsuit, that sounds like someone’s gonna get hurt” and so on.

He claims the customer was upset and said he went to a few other shops which also refused to cut the rear brake lines. That’s really not surprising, but the man was shocked the Car Wizard wouldn’t be cool with the questionable mod.

While a lot people are howling at the stupidity of the Camaro owner, and we get why, one person on Facebook brought up an interesting point. What the guy was requesting could’ve been accomplished by installing a line lock system. Why didn’t the Car Wizard just sell the owner on that for this third gen Camaro?

We wonder if the customer didn’t just figure out how to cut his own rear brake lines. Had the Car Wizard just taught the man about line lock and installed that solution, he might have helped avoid tragedy, which is ironically exactly what he was concerned about in the first place.
