Someone in Nevada wrecked their Acura Integra Type R while pushing it through a canyon, with photos that will make you wince. After all, there isn’t much left of the Japanese sport compact which has become a cult favorite of many.
California legislature kills classic car bill supported by Jay Leno.
According to Nevada State Police, the crash happened over Labor Day weekend on State Route 28 near Carson City. It’s a stretch of canyon road in Lake Tahoe Forest. The law enforcement agency also said speed and bald tires were contributing factors.

You can see in the photos the tires were in fact worn down beyond what’s safe, or in other words bald.
Thankfully, the driver wasn’t seriously injured.
Photos shard by NSP, which you can see, show the mangled yellow Integra Type R resting in a rocky area by a large pine tree. It appears the driver lost control, veered toward the opposite side of the road, then jumped the soft curb, with skid marks on the pavement showing just that.
It’s also obvious the Acura hit the tree, caving in the passenger side of the vehicle in the brutal impact. If there isn’t serious frame damage done to the car, we would be absolutely shocked.
How the owner was riding around on bald tires, pushing his ride through the twisting, winding canyon road without realizing that was a recipe for disaster is a great question we can’t answer. Any real gearhead would be noticing the tires and better maintaining the car, especially one that was probably worth a pretty penny before the wreck.
A woman by the name of Lia Duran Berti commented on NSP’s Facebook post about the crash, claiming the Integra Type R’s brakes went out, so the driver pulled the e-brake in an attempt to slow down, causing him to lose control of the car before it rolled four times.
How she would even know that isn’t clear, but the dubious claim was roundly mocked by other users.
