Production Kicks Off at Windsor
Stellantis has begun production of the 2026 Dodge Charger Scat Pack at its Windsor, Ontario assembly plant, bringing the gas-powered muscle car variant to the line alongside its electric siblings. The Scat Pack is built around Stellantis’ twin-turbo Hurricane inline-six, producing 550 horsepower and enough torque to deliver a 0-100 km/h time of 3.9 seconds.
A Third Shift and 1,500 New Jobs Coming
Stellantis is preparing to add a third shift at Windsor next year, a move expected to bring up to 1,500 new jobs as the plant ramps up to meet anticipated demand for the new Scat Pack model.
An Electric Charger Variant Is Coming Too
The gas-powered Scat Pack isn’t the only high-performance Charger variant on the way. Stellantis is also preparing the all-electric Charger Daytona Scat Pack, which is expected to produce 670 horsepower, giving buyers a choice between traditional combustion power and an electric performance option under the same nameplate.
A Nearly $2 Billion Investment in the Plant
Stellantis has invested close to $2 billion revamping the Windsor facility, adding automation and updated workstations to keep the assembly line running efficiently as it handles both the new Scat Pack and other Charger variants. The company has also added 600 new engineering positions tied to the expansion, along with another 1,000 jobs through NextStar Energy.
A Dual Bet on Gas and Electric
With gas-powered and electric performance Chargers now both moving toward production at the same facility, Stellantis is positioning Windsor as a hub capable of serving buyers on either side of the combustion-versus-electric divide, rather than betting the plant’s future on a single powertrain strategy.
