Thieves Carjack Aston Martin From Residential Garage

Estimated read time 3 min read

Stay frosty, everyone!

Thieves want your car, especially if it’s expensive and easy to sell in a foreign market, and they’re not afraid to hurt you to get it. That’s why armed carjackings are on the rise in many areas of the country following years of car thefts surging. A shocking example of just how far these criminals will go to take your precious vehicle was caught on surveillance footage as two men fought with an Aston Martin owner in his own garage.

Watch a pair of carjackers get stopped in their tracks by a simple security device.

The video, which has been shared by Westport Police Department in Connecticut, shows the man sitting in his convertible Aston Martin as one thief wearing dark clothing and a balaclava to hide his identity runs through the open garage door, approaching the driver’s side of the luxury sports car.

As the first carjacker opens the driver’s door, a second one appears and opens the passenger door. That’s when a struggle starts between the first thief and the owner of the vehicle.

Before going over to help his buddy, the second carjacker opens up the Aston Martin crossover sitting next to the convertible, likely checking to see if it will start. This is why we keep our cars locked, even when they’re in the garage.

The second thief runs over to help the first and they overpower the driver, yanking him out of his own vehicle. Then they climb inside and fire up that sweet V8 as the owner tries stopping them while yelling for someone in the house to call the police.

Video shared to X shows the thieves punch the man in the head repeatedly as a woman screams. The guy almost gets pinned between the open car door and the garage wall as the thief in the driver’s seat reverses.

Probably realizing the carjackers are willing to seriously hurt him if he keeps trying to fight, the Aston Martin owner watches as the carjackers driver off in his beloved ride.

Police say this shocking carjacking happened on the afternoon of September 17 on Bayberry Lane in Westport, Connecticut. They also say “there have been no significant developments in the investigation” as of September 18. The Aston Martin and a dark blue BMW the carjackers reportedly arrived in were spotted traveling down Route 8 right after the recorded incident.

What police believe is that the thieves followed the Aston Martin owner from somewhere back to his house, then sprung the trap as he sat in his garage. Many people do this sort of thing and sadly it makes them a sitting duck. We advise closing your garage door as soon as possible after you pull inside, closing off any potential carjackings or other violent attacks.

It’s also wise to always be aware of your surroundings. The fact this person had a camera in his garage helps, but that doesn’t mean thieves won’t still strike.

Hopefully these two are caught soon or we fear they’ll strike again. And their next victim might not walk away from the carjacking.
