Parents: don’t let your kids go to street takeovers. We’ve been warning about these illegal events for a long time, but so many think the gatherings are just “innocent fun.” Yet again, we have a violent episode at a street takeover, this time in Los Angeles, and police believe a young woman was possibly killed.
Smoking woman blows up her Dodge Charger.
Police held a press conference and released the video on April 19, but the incident itself happened on the night of April 14. A street takeover in South Los Angeles at the intersection of San Pedro and Manchester resulted in some pedestrians being hit by a car.
There’s a $25,000 reward for information on this case. Someone knows something and they could really use that cash.
Like we’ve seen happen so many times at these illegal street takeovers, a vehicle ripping some donuts dangerously close to the crowd loses control, plowing into the people. Among those violently flung by the Infiniti G37 is a young woman who ended up unconscious on her back, blood trickling from her head onto the pavement.
Police believe she might have died right then or shortly after and that people covered it up, possibly because they were scared. We think it’s likely the pictured young woman was at least seriously injured.
In the video, you see two people pick the girl up and carry her off, possibly to seek medical attention. However, police haven’t been able to track the victim down to confirm if she’s alive or hospitalized.
There’s a second woman in the video who was also hit by the car and police say it shows her also seriously injured. Before you think this sort of thing is the exception, we can tell you people get hurt or worse at takeovers or sideshows all the time.
If you even suspect your kid or kids go to street takeovers, you need to do whatever you can to stop them. We’ve seen countless people get shot at them, beat unconscious, and run over by cars. There are drug deals, human trafficking, and other serious crimes going down at these gatherings.
We hope the young woman in the video is okay, but there’s a possibility she died and all because people wanted some cheap thrills.
