Superior power and blistering speed do not guarantee escape from police. While a handful of agencies have invested in Dodge Hellcats and Scat Packs, such resources are far from common, meaning anyone with a fast muscle car could theoretically outrun a typical cruiser.

In this case, however, a speeding Scat Pack driver was stopped through pure dumb luck rather than a faster patrol car. The outcome served as a reminder that horsepower alone is no match for the unpredictable ways a pursuit can suddenly turn against a fleeing driver.
