A road raging woman drove her SUV down a sidewalk in Palm Coast, Florida, chasing a kid on an e-bike, all of it caught on camera. Both the teenager on the electric bicycle and a driver on the road filmed the shocking incident before deputies caught up with the irate female.
Road rager takes a hammer to victim’s windshield.
Flagler County Sheriff’s Office said it was contacted on June 7 as another driver witnessed the woman, 65-year-old Julia Kalthof, driving on the sidewalk while chasing the kid on his bike.
The teenager was desperate for help, waiving cars down while recording the woman driving juts six to ten feet behind him, reports WFLA. We can’t imagine how much fear the kid felt.
It wasn’t until the guy who called 911 cut in front of the road raging woman’s SUV at an intersection that the ordeal was over for the teen on the e-bike. He reportedly is just 14 years old.
When deputies arrived on the scene, Kalthof told them she was angry with the kid because he was “riding his e-bike too fast and (she) wanted to find out where he lived to speak to his parents.”
However, the frightened teenager told his parents about the incident and they called the sheriff’s office. He told investigators the woman screamed at him, then cut him off, and at one point almost hit him with her SUV. That would be enough to rattle us.
Smartly, the victim was able to show the cellphone video he recorded of Kalthof driving on the bike path, which we’re going to guess helped with her getting hit with charges: aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and reckless driving.
Sheriff Rick Staly didn’t mince words about the incident, saying Kalthof put not only the teen’s life in danger, but also the lives of others, saying had anyone been hurt or killed, she would be facing much more serious charges.
After thanking the man who cut in front of Kalthof and stopped her pursuit, Sheriff Staly gave his opinion that the woman “clearly needs anger management.”
As an aside, Flagler County Sheriff’s Office was able to get video of the incident through a new system which allows people calling 911 to upload videos and images. That’s a fantastic tool so cops arriving on a hot scene know better what to expect.
