Bad news for owners of 2025 Ford Super Duty trucks as they’ve been recalled for a scary safety risk. In fact, the situation is so dire Ford has issued a “Do Not Drive” warning to pickup owners, something we suggest anyone affected follows or risk serious consequences.
Ford has offered cash for stolen F-Series trucks.
According to the official recall notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, certain 2025 Ford F-550 SD, F-450 SD, F-350 SD, and F-250 SD trucks can experience a sudden loss of brake function. Needless to say, not being able to stop a vehicle is bad news, especially when it weighs a few tons.
What’s crazy is the catastrophic problem is caused by a simple, small spring. More specifically, the recall notice says the brake boost pushrod retaining spring might not have been installed at the factory.
That means the pushrod can disconnect from the brake pedal, rendering it useless. That would constitute a very bad day for anyone.
Thankfully, only 2,345 trucks are included in the recall, so at least it’s not another massive one for the Blue Oval. To have the problem fixed, dealers will inspected the truck and fix the brake pedal assembly, if necessary.
Since this is a safety recall, Ford Super Duty owners don’t need to pay a red cent for the work to be done.
But if you own one of the recalled trucks, you need to keep it parked until it’s inspected and repaired by a dealership. We wouldn’t even advise you to drive it to the dealership since the brakes might not work at any time.
