A woman in Beverly Hills, Missouri is frustrated with cars repeatedly running into her house. The collisions have damaged the house’s foundation and interior, with her left to cover some of those costs out of pocket. Anyone can understand how frustrating that would be.

Instead of just complaining, the woman told local news station Fox 2 St. Louis she’s reached out to city and state officials. It sounds like both governments are slowly moving toward maybe doing something. In the meantime, another accident by her house could mean more damage if it ends in her front yard.
Obviously, there’s something going on where her house is positioned. One of the accidents involved someone taking out a stop sign, almost running into her home. That means there’s an intersection nearby and we have a funny feeling that’s playing some role in the situation.
It also sounds like speeding might be a problem in the area, at least contributing to crashes and definitely the velocity cars are hitting the woman’s house.
Before we even finished watching the news report on the problem, we already were thinking some solid obstacles would be a good solution. Apparently, the city said it couldn’t drop some boulders on the woman’s property, which would be a great barrier.
But instead of just being a victim, she has come up with her own solution for now. She is installing raised flower beds with solid steel rods in the middle. If those are properly anchored, they should stop most cars from getting anywhere near her house.
We’re sure there are better solutions, but this woman is probably dealing with a tight budget, especially since she’s also fixing big damage to her house. If money were no object she could get some large boulders, a row of solid steel bollards anchored deep into the ground, or something else.
