Typically, a car stolen and not recovered for years is gone for good, perhaps chopped for parts on the black market or cruising the streets of some distant city. But a Ford Mustang GT reported stolen long ago turned up in an unexpected way.

The muscle car resurfaced during a routine traffic stop, much to everyone’s surprise. It’s a rare and welcome reminder that some long-lost vehicles do eventually find their way back.
