One of the worst reactions when an animal darts in front of your car is to swerve, yet that’s exactly what a driver in Sioux City, Iowa did when a deer appeared in his lane. Unfortunately, his swerve sent him into 13 other cars.
Thankfully those vehicles weren’t occupied, sparing what could have been a much worse outcome. The incident illustrates why experts advise braking rather than swerving in these situations.
