One law enforcement agency we would not run from, especially in a mediocre car like this old Ford Crown Vic, is Georgia State Patrol. Troopers there don’t take too kindly to people who think they can just speed off and avoid pulling over, using some fairly extreme methods to beat them into submission.
Tesla runs a red light, T-bones firetruck ahead of Hurricane Milton landfall.
This guy who was caught apparently street racing another car in Columbus learns this lesson the hard way, as you can see in the dashcam recording. His first mistake was thinking the janky old Crown Victoria that looks like it was rattle can painted to look like a retired cop car (but lacks the spotlights and other treatments) was fast enough to outrun a GSP Dodge Charger.
His second mistake was believing he was good enough of a driver to outrun a state trooper. While he does succeed in producing a lot of tire smoke, control and finesse aren’t exactly this guy’s forte.
It seems like every turn he goes through causes him to spin the Ford out. Some people think to go fast all you have to do is push the accelerator all the way down all the time. That might work in their crappy little Hyundai Elantra, but in a rear-wheel-drive ride with more than a hamster-driven powertrain, that strategy is dumb.
Those horrible driving skills allows the trooper to just keep pitting the Crown Vic out over and over. But since it’s a Crown Vic it’s tough, taking those hits while allowing the genius behind the wheel to keep running. That is until the trooper pins the full-size sedan, keeping it from driving away again.
After he flees a legal traffic stop, the suspect has the temerity to freak out on the trooper about the damage to his already janky Ford. The entitlement of some people is just unreal.
