Full-size SUVs like the Ford Expedition can be difficult for police to PIT during a chase, and the Arkansas State Police are no exception. That gave the suspect in this pursuit a slight edge as the trooper repeatedly struggled to bring the bulky family hauler to a stop.
The Expedition’s size and weight made the usual takedown tactics less effective. The chase highlighted how larger vehicles can frustrate even well-trained troopers, prolonging pursuits that smaller cars would typically end far more quickly.
