Car theft takes its toll on society in many ways, including creating chaotic situations when police catch up with the suspects. Just such a scene unfolds in bodycam footage from multiple officers during an incident where stolen Porsche Macan is located in Newark, New Jersey.

Learn why an attorney tried silencing a disgruntled repair shop customer.

That footage, taken back in August, shows police corner the stolen luxury SUV as it’s parked on the side of the road by a convenience store. They catch the vehicle with just the passenger sitting in the front seat, taking him into custody with little trouble.

However, as they’re dealing with cuffing that guy, another one comes out of the busy convenience store and climbs inside the Porsche, getting into the driver’s seat. One of the officers tries pulling the suspect out, but he fires up the engine and starts driving.

Almost hitting an officer and running into the patrol car parked in front, the suspect is fired on by at least one of the officers at the same time. What we don’t know until after is at least one of those rounds hit the suspect.

Badly wounded, the guy is still determined to get away. He pushes past the cruiser, blows through an intersection, then veers right onto the sidewalk and hits a brick building. That collision pushes the Macan back out towards the street, where it rams into some parked vehicles.

In the series of crashes, the airbags deploy and the suspect either comes to his senses or is unable to continue pressing on the accelerator.

Everything from the police stopping at the stolen Porsche to the final crash unfolds in under three minutes, showing how things can get crazy in a hurry with stolen vehicle stops. Suspects oftentimes act incredibly desperate, even if they would normally face what we would consider light consequences.

Check out the footage for yourself, just be warned it’s graphic.
