For reasons that defy logic, drivers in Arkansas still seem not to grasp that outrunning local police usually just summons a state trooper to end the chase. Time and again this plays out with disastrous results, as it did when a fleeing Mustang was PITted at 103 miles per hour.
Executing a PIT maneuver at such a high speed is extraordinarily risky, yet the troopers are well practiced at it. The outcome reinforced the now-familiar lesson that running from the Arkansas State Police rarely ends well for the suspect.
