Toyota is closing out production of the Supra MKV with a Final Edition version of the sports car for the 2026 model year. While some might feel misty-eyed about this final bow for the model line, others feel a sense of relief. Then there are those who still mock the MKV Supra, calling it “just a Bimmer.”

This is why you should Faraday cage your car keys.

Before the return of the legendary Supra, there were all kinds of hushed rumors and speculation about whether it would in fact come back and what the Toyota sports car would be like. Few thought it would be co-developed with BMW, something which disappointed a subset of fans.

All that aside, the Supra MKV has been a solid performance machine. After all, with the turbo inline-six engine and 8-speed automatic transmission, the sports car can dash from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds, which isn’t too shabby. What’s more, Toyota’s Gazoo Racing division has been constantly tweaking the sports car, as it has also done for the 2026 GR Supra MKV Final Edition.

According to Toyota, this pinnacle of the MKV comes with improvements to the brakes, suspension, structural rigidity, aerodynamics, etc. In other words, it should handle better than ever, making it perfect for track runs or spirited driving on twisting, winding backroads.

To set it apart from the rest of the Supra lineup, the Final Edition comes with distinct exterior styling like new 19-inch matte black wheels, gloss-finish carbon-fiber ducktail spoiler, and gloss carbon-fiber side mirror caps.

Buyers can add the GT4 style pack which comes with exterior side graphics, matte-finish carbon-fiber ducktail spoiler, matte-black rear Supra badge, and red mirror caps, really setting it apart from the other 2026 Supras.

Two big questions remain now that the Supra MKV is going away. Will it be missed? Will it be replaced?
