Porsche Carjackers Steal Puppy As Well

Estimated read time 2 min read

Sadly, we’ve seen many cases of dogs being stolen along with cars and it’s happened again, this time in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. According to police, a Porsche Cayenne was violently carjacked with a two-month-old Rottweiler/Pitbull mix puppy inside.

Cops bust dog for reckless driving.

According to police, the armed carjacking happened at about 8:40 am on October 1 as the driver was exiting the black 2021 Porsche Cayenne bearing Ontario license plate CYLY981. The suspect produced a gun and demanded the SUV’s keys, which the victim handed over for fear of being shot.

Police are asking the public for help, in particular anyone who might have been in the area of Sheppard Avenue West and Downsview Drive on the morning of October 1. That includes anyone who might have dashcam footage, even if those people don’t believe they saw the stolen Porsche. Sometimes details are captured with devices us humans don’t perceive.

While it’s possible the carjacker didn’t realize the puppy was in the backseat at the time, it’s also a possibility there were already plans to sell the canine after stealing the Cayenne. We’ve sadly seen such a two-for-one scheme many times before.

As a refresher, car theft has become such a problem in Toronto that police not too long ago advised residents to consider installing retractable driveway bollards. While many laughed at the expense and ridiculousness of such things, we’ve seen more photos of people who took that advice seriously.

The only problem is that in Toronto, like many other large cities, the car thieves are becoming more aggressive. If they can’t take your car while it’s parked outside overnight, they’ll take it at gunpoint, putting your very life in danger. We’ve watched a disturbing upward trend in carjackings for many metropolitans over the past few years, a problem that sadly will likely become far worse.
