It happens with every generation: adults complain that “kids these days” just can’t follow directions. You could say that dynamic is as old as time itself, but with situations like this one involving several young kids running from police in a Nissan Rogue, let’s just say it only reinforces the stereotype.

The dashcam footage, which is from Arkansas State Police (if you know, you know) starts off with a trooper on surface streets in Little Rock. While the trooper sits at a red light, a Nissan Rogue going the opposite direction slowly blows through the light.
One might wonder how anyone could miss an obvious police car sitting at a red light, just driving through it like nothing’s happening. It might have something to do with eight kids all piled inside the little crossover.
With that many people, all of them apparently young and dumb (more on that later) it’s no wonder they don’t see the red light or the cop. Clueless as can be, the driver flips on the turn signal and pulls into a gas station, probably for a light night munchies run.
That’s when the trooper switches on his lights and sirens. Suddenly the driver is paying attention and decides to show what the little grocery getter can do. The chase is almost over as soon as it begins, the suspect narrowly missing a collision with a Suburban.
For what it’s worth, the driver pulls some fancy moves after getting on the highway, at one point faking the trooper out completely. But the gutless Nissan doesn’t have enough to capitalize on the long stretches of the road, allowing the trooper to catch up and try pitting the crossover out.
Probably realizing how futile running is, the driver exits the highway and pulls over. That’s when the excruciating part begins as all eight kids show they can’t follow simple directions. Everyone can debate about why that might be, but this is a problem many parents, teachers, etc. deal with even when it comes to kids who don’t lead police on chases.
