Blink and you might miss the quick PIT maneuver a street takeover suspect driving a Dodge Charger experienced at the hands of Florida Highway Patrol. While we’ve seen quick PITs in the past, this is by far the quickest, it really is over in a heartbeat. This also shows that FHP troopers really aren’t playing around when it comes to street takeovers these days, which is great to see.
Man steals a social security number to finance his Hellcat loan.
According to the trooper’s report, he and his colleagues were part of a takeover operation, so they were focused on finding people who were doing donuts and drifting in intersections. The black Dodge Charger in question had been involved in one earlier that night, December 10, 2024, but got away.
Seeing the suspect vehicle again, troopers knew the driver was motivated and capable of slipping away, so they didn’t take any chances. You can see in the footage troopers start out observing the suspect Charger, identifying it not as a street takeover participant, but also someone who successfully ran away earlier that night.
Instead of just charging at the Dodge, troopers, the one who’s also in a Charger gets out into the lanes of travel in front of the fleeing suspect, while his colleague hangs back in case the guy goes a different direction.
We’re going to say it’s likely hubris that causes the street takeover guy to try just flying right past the FHP trooper in his Charger. After all, he got away earlier, and probably has participated in other takeovers without consequence, so he likely expects the same thing to happen.
But as he drives around the one cruiser, the trooper accelerates suddenly, catching the other Dodge’s rear quarter panel with his push bar, performing a lightning quick PIT maneuver like we’ve never seen before.
And just like that, the suspect spins out, hitting a building, bringing the chase to a close before it really gets going. Florida Highway Patrol isn’t playing around anymore with the stricter street takeover law on the books, and we’re here for it. As enthusiasts, we want the takeover movement abolished.
