It’s always interesting watching police deal with obviously superior vehicles, like this Jeep Trackhawk that absolutely smokes an Arkansas trooper. Some members of Arkansas State Police are smart enough to know when they can’t keep up, hanging back and driving safe to see if the suspect just wrecks out. Not this guy.

Watch a Honda minivan smoke an Arkansas trooper.

Instead, the trooper seems to believe he can catch the suspect, as if what he’s chasing is a regular Jeep Grand Cherokee. We know a lot of cops think they know all about cars, but even if this trooper doesn’t know what he’s chasing, it quickly should become obvious he’s outgunned.

The Jeep blasts past the trooper on a surface street and doesn’t skip a beat, continuing to accelerate and weave around slower traffic, including going the wrong way to gap the cop.

In no time the trooper pushes his cruiser to over 100 mph, not on the highway but on surface streets with intersections. That seems a little dicey to us. And it’s not like he’s gaining on the suspect, just the opposite.

As the trooper is busy getting smoked and humiliated, you can hear him on the dashcam footage yelling at other drivers who dare get in his way. He also yells at his colleagues to “get off the radio.” After all, he’s got a Jeep to catch.

After a bit, it becomes obvious the Trackhawk slows down intentionally, toying with the trooper, letting him gain some ground but not too much. Then the suspect blacks the SUV out, weaves around through traffic, turns his lights back on, and in general appears to be having a good time.

But the trooper seems to think he’s got a shot at catching this guy. But as he lets the ASP cruiser catch up some more, the suspect uses those big SRT brakes to slow and stick a turn the trooper can’t, then he just disappears into the night.
