Some people have the mistaken notion that if they’re on a hot motorcycle like a Honda CBR they can outrun the cops no problem. Back in the day that might have been the case, but modern law enforcement vehicles have better gearing and are made for high-speed runs. That’s something the suspect in this dashcam footage from Georgia State Patrol learns the hard way.

Watch another suspect in Atlanta think he ditched cops using his Dodge Challenger.

A trooper patrolling the interstate in Atlanta sees the two riders behaving recklessly, including one of them cutting across a gore point, and decides to pull them over. However, once his lights and sirens are on, these two fools decide to take their lives into their hands and flee.

As the chase gets going, it becomes obvious these two are going to split up. If they didn’t, they would be the biggest fools. How does the trooper decide which one to pursue? He says openly on the radio he’s going with the one who rides worse – quite the brutal comment as he locks onto the one guy.

During the chase, we see other cops with their lights on, most of them pulling over cars. But one is a fellow trooper who jumps into the pursuit. As our wobbly rider keeps speeding down the interstate, we hear over the radio talk of Atlanta Police possibly getting its Phoenix helicopter to track the suspect.

That air asset apparently did get a lock on the Honda CBR but troopers didn’t lose visual of the suspect and soon our camera car closes the gap along with his buddy. The suspect probably thinks he still has a shot of getting away, but at this point he’s already cooked.

In the meantime, you can hear the troopers are joking around and having a good time as the chase goes from one highway to another. At one point the lead trooper says they can chase the Honda until it runs out of gas since he has a full tank – hilarious.

After our suspect finally gives up, realizing he wasn’t getting away, troopers tell him “we go for the weakest link, which is you.” Absolutely brutal.
